APPEALS

Tribunal representation priced by complexity

Representation in the First-tier Immigration Tribunal and Upper Tribunal typically ranges between £450 and £2,000 depending on the complexity of the matter.

Typical range

£450 – £2,000

Depending on complexity

  • We instruct counsel for advocacy in appeal matters — counsel’s fees form part of client disbursements and may attract VAT at 20% where applicable.

  • Court and tribunal fees are payable by the client and are not included in our service charges.

  • Appeals may attract other disbursements such as drafting skeleton arguments or grounds of appeal. We will discuss any such charges with you where applicable.

  • Miss Nelson, Head of Practice, supervises all appeal work including preparation and document assessment.

DISBURSEMENTS & VAT

Third-party costs & important notes

Disbursements are costs related to your matter that are payable to third parties. They are not included in our service charges. We handle payment on your behalf where appropriate to keep the process smoother.

Typical disbursements

  • Home Office / visa application fees
  • Biometric enrolment fees
  • Translation certificates
  • DNA test reports
  • Document scanning services
  • Barristers’ (counsel) fees
  • Social workers’ / expert fees
  • Court and tribunal fees
  • Travel / mileage if we attend an interview with you

VAT & liability

  • We are VAT registered. VAT Registration Number: 4867199234. Where applicable, VAT is charged at 20%.
  • VAT generally applies if your usual place of residence is the UK (including if you had leave but overstayed). If you are not resident in the UK, entered without permission, or are an asylum seeker without leave, you are not normally liable for VAT — we will advise you based on your circumstances.
  • Translation and expert report costs vary by length and provider; we obtain a quote and agree it with you before instructing.
  • Our charges are payable whether your application is successful or not, or whether you win or lose an appeal. You remain primarily liable for the charges.
